Kilowatts (kW) and kilowatt hours (kWh)

  • Kilowatt (kW) is power and kilowatt hours (kWh) is an amount of energy. Let me explain that to you in pictures:

Kilowatt hours are an amount of energy think about it like liters. Kilowatts you should imagine as "flow" of a power per hour, uncut, the kWh / h. However, because the hour (h) is before and after the break line, one kW results after shortening.

Maybe also a help, charging power are in kW and battery capacities in kWh:

The smart electric drive has a battery capacity of 17.6kWh (amount of energy) and charges with a maximum of 22kW ("energy flow")
